Daubeney Primary School

Daubeney was until September 2022, a three form entry school, in the Kings Park area of Hackney. Due to falling rolls in Hackney, we are now operating as a two form entry Primary School. Daubeney serves a vibrant community with high numbers of SEND and children eligible for pupil premium. Daubeney was judged a ‘Good’ school in October 2023 by Ofsted. We have a Nurture provision, a school bus, a beautiful garden, a phonics specialist as well as a dedicated staff team and wonderfully supportive parents.

Daubeney and Sebright Children's Centres

Daubeney Children's Centre share a site with Daubeney Nursery and provides high quality early years education and family support.  There is access to family health services such as midwives, health visitors, speech therapists and dieticians.  There are also free drop in play and stay sessions, parenting programmes, family learning and health promotions. The nursery, situated in the children’s centre, offers day care places on a part time basis. During term time our focus is on children between 0 and 5 years old, in the summer this increases to children up to 8 years old.

Sebright Children's Centre is a purpose built Centre, just across Haggerston Park from Sebright Primary School.  This centre provides for the use and enjoyment of families who have children under 5 living in Hackney - all services are FREE! The Centre is split into 2 floors. The downstairs part of the Centre has a variety of daily activities such as music, baby massage, parents drop-ins, messy play and a whole host of other activities for the family. The upstairs part of the Centre is a day care nursery.

The Children's Centres are overseen by Suzanne Carmichael who works very closely with the Executive Head Teacher and Federation School Business Leader.  She is supported by a range of play workers, family support workers and early years practitioners in giving children the very best start in their lives.  Suzanne is also an active member within Hackney Education, sitting on various groups and panels.  She is also very skilled at bringing in additional grants and funding!
